Hi, I’m Alison
Who am I?
What am I?
What do I believe in?
What do I do?
I like to say that before I am anything, I am human, as it is the single most powerful element which connects me with over 7 billion others around the world. I think our shared humanity is much more important than all the things that make us different.
I love wordsmiths, quirky thinking, equality, chutzpah & kindness.
Personally I am a mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend. I’m a potty mouth. I live with depression. I’m a stroke survivor. I’m funnier than my husband (it’s scientific – I asked my daughters). I smile at strangers. I talk to people I don’t know. I’m a hugger.
Professionally, I have over 25 years of experience in writing, marketing, communications, mentoring, and social media, and I am still trying to work out what I will do when I grow up. In the meantime, I’m good at what I do.
As a volunteer I actively represent World Vision, Beyond Blue, Stroke Foundation and Bedo Ki Gen through my writing, speaking and fundraising efforts.
I am passionate about my gorgeous family, compassionate politics, being a good ally and supporting what is embodied in the Uluru Statement from the Heart.
